BEHIND THE LENS

I'm a self taught photographer with a passion for the world about us. I enjoy long walks and immersing myself in the landscape and look to capture the amazing views whenever I can.

 

People often ask me what camera you have or what lens you use, but I'm not precious about the equipment. It's all about having an eye for a  photograph and what makes a good picture. Many of my photos are taken with kit that many of us will have with us, a smart phone or a simple point and shoot camera. The difference is about learning to take a photograph rather than a snap shot. The difference is about taking time to compose an image, to get the right angle, and to make the image interesting. 

 

I work in the marketing world and my job involves nothing at all connected with photography, so this is my escape and my passion. I've taken snapshots all my life, but it's only in the last few years with the ease and convenience of digital that my interest in photography has grown. The feedback gained through friends, family and online social platforms like Instagram, has prompted me to promote my work through exhibitions and craft fairs, plus my web site.
